Abstract

Financial recording is an essential aspect of micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) management. However, many MSME actors still do not maintain systematic and orderly bookkeeping. This condition was also found among several MSME actors in Ahuru Hamlet, Batumerah Village, Ambon, who generally relied on manual recording, personal memory, or mixed business and household finances. This community service activity aimed to improve MSME actors’ understanding and skills in simple financial recording through the use of Microsoft Excel. The activity was conducted in Ahuru Hamlet, Batumerah Village, Ambon, involving eight participants consisting of sistik snack producers, decorative flower sellers using chenille wire, and DTF printing business actors. The implementation method included needs identification, material delivery, Excel template practice, transaction recording assistance, and evaluation of participants’ practice results. The training materials focused on recording cash inflows, cash outflows, sales recapitulation, business expenses, simple profit calculation, and basic financial report preparation. The results indicate that participants were able to understand the importance of separating personal and business finances, identify types of business transactions, and practice simple financial recording using Microsoft Excel. This training provides a practical contribution to encouraging the digitalization of MSME financial administration in a simple, affordable, and applicable manner according to the capacity of local business actors.
