Abstract

The selection of a badminton racket is a crucial factor that directly influences player performance, shot accuracy, and comfort during a match. Currently, many racket selection processes rely heavily on subjective experience, recommendations from peers, or brand popularity, without taking into account measurable technical data or a comprehensive scientific analysis. This situation may lead players to choose rackets that are not suitable for their playing style and technique, potentially reducing playing quality and increasing the risk of injury.

This study aims to apply the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method as a decision support approach to assist in prioritizing the selection of a new badminton racket systematically, objectively, and transparently. By implementing AHP, multi-criteria problems in racket selection can be structured hierarchically, facilitating weighting, pairwise comparisons, and the determination of the best alternatives based on defined priority criteria.

The expected outcome of this research framework is to serve as a reference for players, coaches, and other stakeholders in selecting rackets that meet technical and playing requirements, while also opening opportunities for further research and the development of sports information systems in the future.
